I’m very excited to announce that I’ll be publishing my first children’s book, under a pen name, towards the end of the month!
I wrote this book 10 years ago, sent it off to a few publishers who sent back some lovely rejection letters in return, put it in a drawer and forgot about it. Until a couple of months ago, when I decided to dust it off and use the experience I’ve gained over the last years to improve it and polish it up.
The result is Dreamland, a book for children ages 9-12, full of adventures with unicorns, giants, dragons and, of course, an evil witch. I have a group of children currently reading it, and they’re giving me some wonderful feedback. As are their mums, who can’t resist reading it either!
My 14-year-old son designed the ebook and paperback covers for me and has done an excellent job, as you can see below. As soon as I have a confirmed release date, I’ll let you all know. In the meantime, you can find sneak peeks and all the info on my Facebook page Pink Quill Books
Here’s the description:
Daniel Green is an ordinary boy who loves reading and playing in his tree house.
On his tenth birthday, everything changes. He falls asleep and drifts through a strange mist, finding himself in Dreamland, a magical place where he can create anything he desires.
Together with his new friends, Lucy and Tom, he begins an amazing adventure, complete with unicorns, giants, dragons and aliens.
But he is not alone. An evil being follows him into his enchanted world and joins forces with Stregona, a powerful witch who reigns over the Dark Forest. Together, they are determined to destroy Dreamland.
Can Danny face his demons and defeat Incubus in time to save his friends?
